On our family-run farm in Southland, New Zealand, our day starts early. It’s often chilly in the mornings, but pulling on our McIvor Hill lambswool jerseys soon has us feeling warm and ready. The kids pitch in by feeding our chooks and collecting fresh eggs, while Tim gets our working dogs ready for the day ahead.
Each day, we work together to manage our animals—whether it’s shifting sheep between paddocks, checking fences, or monitoring their overall wellbeing. Farming is a hands-on experience, teaching our kids the importance of caring for animals and respecting the land we live on.
Lunchtime usually finds us gathered around our kitchen table chatting about what jobs need finishing (which usually turns into a small meeting!). Afternoons often mean shed work, repairs, or working with the sheep in the yard. We’re proud to handle every step of the journey right here in New Zealand, making sure our lambswool stays traceable from our farm to your wardrobe.
Raising our family here in Southland means teaching our children the value of teamwork, responsibility, a love for the outdoors, and being part of a close-knit rural community. It’s hard work, but we wouldn’t trade it for anything. At the end of the day, the satisfaction of knowing we’re producing premium-quality, sustainable wool garments is why we love what we do.
When you wear a McIvor Hill jersey, you’re wearing a small piece of our everyday life—filled with warmth, care, and family pride.
